Cowboys select DI Osa Odighizuwa with 75th Pick

It’s no surprise that a team that really could defend anything in 2020 used it’s third straight pick on defence, selecting Osa Odighizuwa with the 75th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Dallas continues to overhaul a unit that was easily the weakest it has fielded in a number of seasons.

A 4-year player for the UCLA Bruins, Odighizuwa racked up 14 sacks and 85 total pressures, including 5 sacks and 21 tackles in his senior year. At 6’2″ 279-pounds he is a little undersized as a run stopper, although he’s not a liability. He’s explosive off the ball and profiles as a situational rusher while his all round game develops.

Draft Network had this to say about Osa Odighizuwa, “A good athlete with good agility and balance. He plays with good natural leverage and is tough against the run. He plays with good effort and hustle to locate the football. In the passing game, he offers value on the edge or reduced down inside. He penetrates gaps and uses his good natural leverage as a bull rusher. He has some explosion in his hips and has shown flashes of upside as a rusher.
